Dialectical behavior Therapy (DBT)

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a type of therapy that helps people manage intense emotions, improve their relationships, and cope with distressing situations. The 4 main components of DBT are:

Mindfulness

Being aware of the present moment without judgment. Mindfulness helps you stay focused on what's happening now instead of getting overwhelmed by the past or future.

Distress tolerance

Developing skills to cope with difficult situations without making things worse. Getting through challenging times without reacting impulsively.

interpersonal effectiveness

Improving communication and relationship skills. Learning to express needs, set boundaries, and navigate social situations more effectively.

Emotion Regulation

Learning how to understand and control strong emotions, so they don't lead to impulsive or harmful behaviors.
