Meet Dr. Eff
Dr. Henry Eff is a licensed clinical psychologist and founder of Henry J. Eff Psychologist PLLC. In his clinical work, Dr. Eff collaborates with his clients to understand the relationship between their thoughts, feelings and behaviors and how re-evaluating these can help achieve individual and interpersonal growth. Each session is intended to leave clients feeling more hopeful, calm and confident about their concrete goals. Dr. Eff’s clinical expertise is in OCD, Anxiety, Depression and related difficulties. Dr. Eff typically works with adults, college students, adolescents and parents.

Virtual & in person therapy
Clients typically see Dr. Eff for 45 minute sessions once a week, with the option to be seen more frequently. Sessions are conducted in person (280 Madison Avenue) or virtually through a confidential, HIPAA compliant video-based platform.
Out of Session work & Communication
Before the conclusion of a session, Dr. Eff will offer at home therapeutic strategies and exercises to facilitate client progress. He will also be available to provide brief support to clients between sessions, enhancing the clinical experience.

Sessions involve teaching and practicing skills in order to feel more confident working through challenges in the real world. Dr. Eff’s approach is direct, goal-focused, warm, humorous, and authentic.

Dr. Eff can provide clients with documentation for submission to insurance companies for potential out-of-network reimbursement.

Leadership & Supervision
Dr. Eff has taken on a leadership role in addition to his clinical work and supervises postdoctoral fellows and Ph.D interns at Center for Anxiety. Dr. Eff has trained in various settings including Center for Anxiety, Trinitas Regional Medical Center and Metropolitan Center for Mental Health. Dr. Eff continues to receive mentorship while also collaborating clinically with renowned psychologist, Dr. David H. Rosmarin.
